CLASSICS FOR THE MODERN ERA: STRAVINSKY & BRAD LUBMAN

The premiere of Wang Lin’s work will be postponed to a future season and Wang Lin will not perform in the performances. The programme has therefore been updated.

SWIRE MAESTRO SERIES: JAAP | RACHMANINOV 2

At the request of Maestro Jaap van Zweden, Beethoven’s Symphony no. 7 will be replaced by Rachmaninov’s Symphony no. 2 and Beethoven’s Fidelio: Overture will not be performed.

The concert has therefore been retitled to “Swire Maestro Series: Jaap | Rachmaninov 2”.

We regret to inform you that soloist Jonas Kaufmann has to withdraw from the performance of “Rolex Proudly Presents: Jonas Kaufmann Opera Gala” on 19 FEB 2025 at 8pm at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall due to health reasons. The performance is therefore cancelled.

The performance on 22 FEB 2025 at 8pm remains unchanged. Please stay tuned for the latest announcements on the HK Phil website and social media platforms.

Change of Conductor

Due to unforeseen Hollywood commitments, Alexandre Desplat has to withdraw from the performances. The HK Phil is pleased to announce that Solrey, Alexandre’s Kapellmeister and Musical Director, will now conduct these performances. Other details remain unchanged.

TARMO PELTOKOSKI CONDUCTS WAGNER

The HK Phil is pleased that Tarmo Peltokoski will return to conduct the concert on 27 & 28 JUN 2025 with a new programme – Saint-Saëns’ The Carnival of the Animals and Wagner’s The Ring: An Orchestral Adventure. The soloists remain unchanged.

The concert has therefore been retitled to “Tarmo Peltokoski conducts Wagner”
