In light of extreme weather conditions, there may be traffic blockage and other unforeseen circumstances affecting the advertised 8pm “Season Opening: Jaap & Joshua Bell” concert at Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall tonight (8 Sep).

This concert will therefore be rescheduled to 3pm on the next day (9 Sep) and at the same venue.

Ticket holders for the 8 Sep concert should present their original concert tickets to gain admission to the 3pm, 9 Sep concert. For ticket holders who are not able to attend the rescheduled concert, please CLICK HERE for the refund arrangement.

TCHAIKOVSKY Symphony no. 4

The HK Phil commences its 50^th concert season with the Asia Premiere of The Elements, a collaborative work by five leading American composers. Each composer incorporates their chosen element of earth, water, fire, air and space into the thematic narrative of their work. Commissioned and performed by Grammy Award-winning violinist Joshua Bell, this important suite of new works is conducted by Music Director Jaap van Zweden, who concludes the concert with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony no. 4 – a poignant and ultimately triumphant battle with fate.

The concert runs approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes with an intermission.
