CHEN QigangReflet d’un temps disparu for Cello and Orchestra
SHOSTAKOVICHSymphony no. 5

and more

We mark the 70th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China in suitably festive style. While Chen Qigang’s folk-song inspired cello concerto looks back to a lost age of innocence, Shostakovich’s mesmerising celebration of a people overcoming hardship to unify their nation provides the concert’s magnificent climax.

Change of Programme & Artist

“A National Day Concert” (19 & 20 SEP 2019) programme will have the above changes. The NCPA Chorus will not perform in this concert. Cellist Li-Wei Qin will be the soloist, while the conductor remains unchanged.
